CARE

We feed Safechoice pellets and beet pulp along with Timothy hay. Supplements provided by the owner will be fed at no extra charge if they are supplied in Smartpaks. We strongly recommend that all horses be placed on a daily wormer (Strongid C, CW, Equi-Aid etc). Horses not on daily wormer will be paste wormed by management every other month. If you provide the wormer we will do this at no charge; if we provide the wormer a charge will be incurred which will vary depending on wormer given ($15-$25). Blanketing of clipped horses is done at no charge but we expect you to blanket your horse appropriately for the evening if you are at the barn in the late afternoon.  Blanketing of unclipped horses is only done if nighttime temperatures are predicted to be below 25 degrees or if rain and daytime temperatures of 40 degrees or less are predicted. Horses are turned out daily (nighttime in summer) on grass in same sex groups. Private turnout is available on a limited basis for an additional charge. Our blacksmith, Sean Hansell, visits on a regular schedule. We schedule spring and fall shots for the entire barn and will advise you of the dates. Coggins are pulled at this time as well.
